Member Services Administrator – 30 hours per week (4 days)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Member Services Administrator.  We are looking for someone who can be flexible on their work days between Monday – Friday (4 days each week), who can work in a small team and motivated to work alone, with the drive to learn new systems and processes whilst offering a high level of administration support to our Member Services Team.

This position will be responsible to the Office Manager.  As part of the Member Services Team you will focus on delivering a high level of customer service administration in an effective and efficient manner learning all aspects of credit union administration.  Experience in assisting customers with their enquiries, accounts, reconciling debits and credits and the use of Excel, Word with the ability to adapt to using other online applications is essential for this role.

On a day-to-day basis you will be expected to work within the team uploading member contributions, reconciling contributions at bank, administering changes to members accounts, reporting changes to payroll providers and much more.  Customer Service and some financial experience is essential.  You will be expected to reach out to members using various communication channels via chat, telephone and email.  From time to time you may be asked to cover our Preston office, attend external events or off-site training.  Use of own car would be an advantage but not essential.

Starting salary is £9.11 per hour (£17,764 pro rata) with four weeks Annual Leave, Bank Holidays and entry into the Group Pension scheme after qualifying period.

Business Administration – Apprenticeship 

This 18-month Apprenticeship opportunity is ideal those aged 17-25 and interested in achieving the Level 3 Standard in Business Administration through on-the-job training following direction from a local training provider.

A business administration apprenticeship will give you the knowledge, experience and essential skills required to enable the smooth day-to-day running of a business or organisation. You will learn and be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, such as record and document production, emails and faxes and answering phone calls. These duties will require you to work as both an individual or as part of a team. You will engage with different parts of your chosen organisation along with internal and external customers which will help you develop a wide range of valuable skills such as IT proficiency, communication, initiative and problem solving. Additionally, this apprenticeship will provide you with a wealth of experience and a range of transferable skills which may present you with the opportunity to work almost anywhere and in a variety of sectors. With the knowledge, skills and behaviours you will learn during this apprenticeship, it is an excellent and logical starting point for those seeking to move into management and offers good career and study progression.

 

This 18-month course is delivered in the work place, you will be assessed through written work, verbal discussion, observation and an end point assessment at the end of your apprenticeship. While you are completing your apprenticeship, you will need to complete ‘off the job training’ this is time spent in working hours gaining new knowledge additional to your usual job role, this time is to take place within your contracted hours and will be agreed with your employer.

This position will be responsible to the Office Manager.  As an Apprentice within the Member Services Team, you will be involved in delivering a high level of customer service and best value in an effective and efficient manner learning all aspects of credit union business.  Confidence in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint together with online access including the use of email will greatly assist you with the learning of this role and the use of membership software.  On a day-to-day basis you will be expected to work within the Member Services team assisting members with their account transactions and enquiries, administration & processing of applications together with reaching out to members using various communication methods including social media, chat, telephone and email.

This is a full-time Apprenticeship opportunity, 37.5hrs each week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm based primarily at our Hutton office.  Apprenticeship remuneration £11,368 per annum (£5.83 ph).  Standard 4-weeks annual leave, Bank Holidays and entry into the Group Pension scheme after qualifying period.
