“I decided to run a marathon back in 2013, just after I’d joined Blues and Twos. It seemed a good idea to choose somewhere really special for my first 26.2 mile run, so I decided on Paris. Having my savings account helped me to turn this into a mini holiday, and I ended up going for 5 nights, which gave me lots of time for sightseeing and soaking up the Parisian atmosphere. I also managed to raise in the region of £1000 for Macmillan Cancer Research – the thought of sponsorship really helped me in those last few miles. I enjoyed the experience so much that within 4 days, I’d booked myself on the Chester marathon in October 2014.”
